Happy Friday! We leave tomorrow for a much needed beach vacation with some friends. In honor of this, I’ve devoted this issue of Friday Favorites to my favorite beach related things. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Favorite Beach Drink: I discovered the bushwhacker in Pensacola, FL. It is basically a milkshake for adults and is dangerously yummy. I haven’t attempted to make them myself yet, but here is a recipe if you’re interested in a little staycation vibe this weekend. P.S….they’re super awesome with a splash of banana liquor added.

Favorite Beach Designer: Lily Pulitzer’s style is literally the embodiment of beach life. I love the bright colors and the fit of her clothes is awesome if you have a petite frame. This beach bag, this cover-up, this dress, and this baby bodysuit are some of my favorites of hers this season.

Favorite Beach Tradition: Every year when we go to the beach, we coordinate our drive so that when we arrive it’s time for lunch. We always go somewhere that’s directly on the water, eat, have a cocktail and enjoy just soaking in the start of vacation.

Favorite Beach Read: I was hoping to get a copy of Oprah’s The Wisdom of Sundays from the library, but of course it’s on reserve for like the next year. Instead, I went with my old standby of Janet’s Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. They follow the life of a female bounty hunter in New Jersey and fall somewhere into the comedy/mystery/romance/suspense genre. I am on book nineteen and love them. I haven’t cracked open a book since Lyla was born, so I’m hoping for some quality reading time on the beach.

Favorite Beach Memory: Tim and I got engaged at St. George Island in 2013 after dating for four years. He popped the question during a beach picnic at sunset and then we celebrated with our friends who were anxiously waiting back at the rental house. It was absolutely perfect. He did such a great job!
