Happy Friday! Thanks to the mid-week holiday break, Friday snuck up extra quick which is always a welcome reprieve. If you’re anywhere near the south, I hope you have something planned either in the water or inside because summer is definitely in full swing temperature wise. We’re going canoeing with a group of friends on Saturday. We haven’t been in over a year, so are looking forward to it. Here are some of my favorites from this week. Enjoy!

Favorite Kitchen Essential: I received this tea kettle as a gift two Christmases ago and I use it almost every day. I may sound like such a grandma, but I genuinely love the nostalgic whistling sound. It’s nice when the little things in life can make you smile. Lyla giggles when she hears it too. Green tea is my afternoon go-to, but I’m trying to branch out and expand my tea horizons. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Favorite Article: It made a few eyebrows raise this week when the headline surfaced that Will Smith and Jada don’t refer to themselves as “married” anymore. His explanation is actually very thoughtful and inspiring.

Favorite New Recipe: We kept things pretty simple for the 4th of July this year. Tim made awesome chicken wings that we paired with salad, deviled eggs, watermelon, and something new….Mexican street corn. We don’t really have corn that often (not one of your more nutritious veggies), but this recipe will definitely be put on our rotation.

Favorite Essential Oil: Our household has been passing a cold around for the last couple of weeks. My normal daily diffuser blend consists of peppermint and a citrus such as orange, lemon, or grapefruit. To combat the stuffiness, I’ve been incorporating eucalyptus and am now hooked! While, I don’t love the scent when sniffing it straight from the bottle, the combination with the other oils is really nice. It’s also potent, so you can really smell it when it’s diffusing.

Favorite Accomplishment: As a kid, I loved looking at the baby calendar that my mom had that tracked milestones and accomplishments from my first year of life. As a surprise, she gave me one to do the same with Lyla. I’m so grateful to have it, however keeping a daily log was at times tricky to keep up with. I’m proud to say that I’ve officially completed it and am so happy that I forced my procrastinating self to write in it (almost) every day.
