Mother’s Day has always been such a fun holiday for me. I’m super fortunate to have a great relationship with my mom and I enjoy having a day to celebrate her (with her). This will be my second year actually participating as a mom and it’s a lot of fun being on both sides of the day now. My requests are typically simple: to spend an hour or so in bed with my coffee (alone) and then enjoy the day with my family. My husband always finds unique and personal gifts which I love, but sometimes it’s nice to offer some mainstream options as well. A seasoned mama can only have so many garments or home items with their beloved children’s faces plastered on them. Here are my top picks for this year:

  1. Faux Fur Slide Slippers. I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again: I was born and raised in the south, but I’m not a barefoot kind of gal. I wear shoes outside the home and socks or slippers inside the home. I can’t stand for my feet to be cold, or to have tiny particles stuck to the bottom of my feet. However, no self-respecting thirty something year old wants to be caught shuffling around in geriatric slippers, so I love finding cute options like these! They’re also 40% off right now.
  2. doTERRA’s Verage Anti-Aging Skin Care. Skin care is expensive, let’s just start there. It’s not unusual to pay the price of this whole set for just one tiny bottle of cream or oil. I have used this once a couple of years ago and honestly loved it. The scents are so fresh and the oils are beyond great for your skin. I plan to get back on the self-care train this summer once we are debt free!
  3. Shorts Set Pajamas. I tend to rack up on winter pajamas (thanks to Christmas and my birthday), but never have anything cute for the summer. Bring in the nursing chemises and old t-shirts. Sometimes just having something that actually matches can make you feel a little more feminine and put together. I also love these and these.
  4. Girl, Go Wash Your Face Book. I realize that there is already a sequel to this book out, but if you’re most moms, or at least anything like me, reading a book falls at about 64th on your list of things to do. I have this on reserve at my library and have gone from 15th in line to 3rd, so I’m gonna have to carve out some me time real quick as I’m sure there are about 30 gals in line behind me waiting for their turn.
  5. Mama Ring. I hear the word “mama” about 73 times each day and while it’s not always endearing at the time, there was something about this simple ring that I just loved.
  6. Monogrammed Straw Tote. For moms, the days of going to the beach or pool with nothing but a drink, towel, and a magazine are gone. A typical hour stint with the children consists of dragging a wagon, cooler, and inflatable pool all while holding at least one kid whose feet don’t want to touch the hot sand or concrete. Large totes are a must for the summer and I love me some monogramming! This one, this one, and this one are all super cute as well!
  7. Stainless Steel Wine Glass. I drink mostly white wine during the summer months, which as we all know is best when very chilled. During any outdoor party, or trip to my favorite local winery, this guy would be so awesome!
  8. Ninja Blender & Food Processor. Small appliances would typically be off limits for a Mother’s Day gift idea. If you come at me with a toaster, I’m sending you back to the store and booking myself a spa day. This is the exception. We splurged on the Ninja system after our last blender went kaput after only four years of use. If you like smoothies, or think you may eventually like smoothies, you need this! I have never been able to blend without intermediately stirring several times. This one literally blends in about two seconds with no annoying stir breaks in between. Game changer and Mother’s Day approved! It’s a great time to grab it at 40% off!
  9. Tortoise Sunglasses. If I’m going to splurge on something designer, it’s usually a purse or some sunglasses. However, I’ve had to deviate from my love of the logo thanks to baby hands that love to dig in my purse and immediately start testing the flexibility of the glasses. These are super cute and are only $20! This pair and this pair are also a great deal.
  10. Hummingbird Tea Towel. I love cute dish towels. Since I don’t do clutter on my counter tops, this is a great way to brighten up the kitchen and bring in some personality, but it’s also functional. I like this one and this one as well.

What’s on your wish list for Mother’s Day this year??
