Happy almost weekend! It’s been quite an odd week for the Ehret household as I underwent emergency surgery on Monday….more on that to come. Luckily, I am doing well and am looking forward to being back on my feet. This week was Lyla’s last week of her 4’s class at Mother’s Day Out. She’s had a great year and always misses school when it’s done. It’s hard to believe she will be starting Pre-K in the fall! No big plans to kick off the summer this weekend, but we hope to start incorporating some fun starting next week….this mama’s fun o’meter needs some amping up for sure! Relaxing for now will suffice. I hope you all have a fabulous two days off and enjoy my favorite finds for this week.

  • Favorite New Recipe: The 100 Days of Real Food website and cookbook have been go-to’s for me for years when on the hunt for new meal options. I recently tried the crock-pot beef stroganoff and have now made it about five times. It is beyond yummy and the perfect comfort food dish.
  • Favorite New Show: Ok, so I am a selective reality show junkie. My bestie has been trying to get me hooked on Summer House for over a year now and I just typically don’t have the time to commit. Well turns out when you’re on bedrest for a few days, you have plenty of time to binge watch a show that’s in it’s 6th season. Also, RHOBH kicked off this week. I’m a long-time fan of this one and am so excited to have it back!
  • Favorite View: If you follow my stories, you already know that my peonies are in bloom! The previous owner had planted five bushes along the back fence line, and they are beyond gorgeous when they finally open (see photo above). They love full sun and are heartier than they look. They all had to be transplanted after we moved in to make way for a row of arborvitaes, and one bush even took a hearty stomping from a three-year-old Lyla and still survived. Low maintenance flora and I get along great!
  • Favorite Purchase: I love coffee…..perfectly brewed coffee specifically. Not too strong, not coffee-flavored water, just ya know, perfect. The key to a perfect cup? The right ratio of grounds to water. And I have a system……one scoop per 3 cups… or is it ounces?? Whatever the numbers mean on my coffee carafe. So, follow me here, 4 scoops to a full “12” pot. Well my loyal coffee scoop broke a couple of weeks back and I’ve been roughing it with a standard spoon…..you can imagine the carnage of coffee grounds that get all over my counter. I finally found the perfect replacement & am “patiently” awaiting it’s arrival.
  • Favorite How To: This article on how to select wall art for your rooms.
  • Favorite All-Natural Bug Spray: I dislike many flying insects, but my hatred for mosquitos has a long history. Since forever, I have been a magnet for these awful creatures. Yes, I’m sure they serve a valiant purpose in our eco-system, but I’m too damaged to care. Maybe from being gassed so often with the awful oil bug spray of my childhood, I also despise bug spray. It’s a great lose-lose situation for me. However, this spray I can tolerate, it does the trick, and without any scary ingredients.
  • Favorite Healthy Thing: Check out my post from earlier this week on how to make easy candy swaps and support companies that are going out of their way to make better products.
