I am not a fashion blogger….shocking I realize. However, I do love the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The true fashion bloggers get into their best autumn outfits & it’s a dreamy way to pretend fall is here…. as I’m literally sitting in 200% humidity with my feet in an inflatable kiddie pool attempting my best swamp thing impersonation. I don’t buy designer pieces…..maybe someday, but I still swoon over the lovely things and then pop back into reality and occasionally splurge on the items that actually serve a purpose in my current day-to-day life. Hello, comfy leggings. Catch ya later, YSL clutch. Mindful splurging is definitely a method of self-care and when those things are on sale, it’s much easier to justify the purchase! Here are some picks from this year’s offerings that combine self-care with a little retail therapy. Enjoy!

  • Ugg Slippers. I love these slippers! I may be from the south, but you will not often find me without shoes or socks on. I despise anything sticking to my feet. I have tried the less-expensive options, but always return to my tried and true.
  • Wit & Wisdom Jeans. I bought a pair of these several years ago and they are the most comfy and versatile denim that I own. Investing in a great pair of jeans is something every woman owes to herself. I love that they offer petite sizes!
  • Barefoot Dreams Robe. A robe is the second thing that I put on every morning….after my trusty slippers. Typically, I’m a short robe kinda gal, but Tim bought me a full-length one a couple of Christmases ago (who says romance is dead?) and I am a believer. Once those mythical chilly months set in, a comfy floor length robe and cup of coffee in the early morning hours are an exquisite combo!
  • Vitamix Blender Bundle. Ok, before you write me off as a crazy 50’s housewife who loves nothing more than a shiny new kitchen appliance, hear me out. A huge part of my personal self care is putting nourishing food into my body. Investing in household items that make this as easy as possible encourage and enable me to do this. If I have to scrape the sides of a blender thirteen times to make one smoothie, guess who ain’t ever gonna make a smoothie? This gal! Investing in a quality one like a Vitamix will be worth it. I also love this Ninja one for a LOT less!
  • Adidas Sneakers. I have shown these before, and I will probably show them again. I’m a sucker for tasteful animal print, and I adore these shoes. Workout attire should be fun and inspiring. If you feel cute in it, then you’ll likely pump yourself up and enjoy the process much more.
  • Organic Sheets. I honestly didn’t think about the quality of my bed sheets until I was pregnant and researching every brand of baby item in an attempt to lower the toxic load for my new human (that journey here). Fast forward five years and now everyone in my household sleeps on organic cotton sheets…..including my guests. I spend as much of my night as possible in my bed, so I appreciate knowing that the place I love is loving me back.
  • Barefoot Dreams Throw. Most evenings after the girls are in bed, you can find me cozied up on the couch with Tim watching the show of the moment. Even in the summer, I love a blanket draped on my lap. This one is a splurge, but the coziest! It would also make a terrific gift for the recipient who has everything!
  • Little Words Project Beaded Bracelet. Words of affirmation are so so powerful. Any time you can have a reminder of how important your thoughts are, the easier it will be to keep those good vibe thoughts on replay. Love these bracelets and there are several styles to choose from.
  • Hydro Flask Bottle. Anything that encourages more water intake throughout your day is a smart investment. I personally avoid plastic, so stainless or glass options are always on my radar. Can I just say I also consider this a check in the self care department since it’s dishwasher safe??

Do you have any go-to items when this sale comes to town?
